New General Manager
New General Manager at Parkhotel Beau Site
Franz Schwegler looks back on a successful career and treasured memories: “It’s the end of an era rich in unforgettable experiences I shared with the wonderful, loyal staff. It was a privilege to welcome guests from all over the world, some of them regulars coming back time after time, a pleasure I can barely describe and an immensely satisfying experience.
My time at the hotel was marked by building alterations, extensions, renovations and the chance to project a bright new, contemporary image of the Parkhotel Beau Site brand. To achieve a balance between modernity and tradition was always our aim, and I think we have been successful in doing that. It was all possible thanks to an exceptionally constructive working relationship with the owners, the Aufdenblatten and Julen families, over a period of 24 years.I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their confidence. Thanks are also due to my wife Dilia for her unflagging support, her great eye for detail and her creative talent for those special decorative touches that always added a certain something. We are looking forward to the new phase of life that awaits us, safe in the knowledge that our ‘Beau Site’ couldn’t be in better hands under the guidance of Roman Codina. Our best wishes to him.”

At the end of April, Franz is handing the reins of the Parkhotel to Roman Codina. Mr Codina, who was born in Schaffhausen in Switzerland, brings with him the benefit of excellent training and long years of experience in hotel management. He attended the Hotel Management School in Lucerne, the General Managers programme at Cornell University and advanced training courses in e-commerce and online marketing. For four years he served as Deputy General Manager at the Mont Cervin Palace hotel in Zermatt. He went on to occupy the position of inaugural General Manager at the Hotel Omnia, also in Zermatt. He left his mark at the Omnia with the successful relaunch and repositioning of the former “Into” programme. After six years in Zermatt, he moved to Bern where he was Deputy General Manager at Hotel Bellevue Palace. Most recently, he served for four years at the Grandhotel Giessbach in Brienz, where his creative flair helped breathe new life into the traditional establishment. “I am delighted to be returning to Zermatt, to have the opportunity of getting to know you, dear guests, and helping to shape the future of the Parkhotel Beau Site that is so rich in tradition.”
